We are in need of a FT engineering director. You have deep experience as an engineer and system architect and can roll up your sleeves when needed. You’re also passionate about collaborating with and guiding a team. You are organized, detailed, and understand that all players, from engineers to QA to project managers and stakeholders, require transparency and clear communication every step of the way. You are passionately entrepreneurial and seek to be invested in the business as a whole, and contribute accordingly.

Profile

• 6+ years full stack engineering experience, both front and backend
• 2+ years team management experience on complex projects
• Experience with the following software stacks, frameworks, and platforms: JAM, MERN, LAMP, NextJS, React, NodeJS, Laravel, Magento, WordPress
• Deep knowledge of current web technology best practices and patterns
• Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces: Digital Ocean, AWS, Vercel
• Excellent devops, system architecture, and server administration skills and experience
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies
• Leadership abilities with a strategic mind
• Excellent project management skills
• Active part of the leadership team, contributing to overall business strategies

Responsibilities

Company leadership and strategy

• Cross-functional team management
• Financial and functional strategy and planning
• Operational planning
• Team troubleshooting and support

Plan all aspects of engineering activities across projects, managing from end-to-end

• Set goals and timelines
• Prioritize projects
• Manage budget and costs
• Ensure web technology best practices compliance
• Provide expert technical guidance
• Ensure quality output for clients, and communicate with clients regularly
• Create functional strategies, objectives, and documentation
• Coordinate internal engineering teams across a variety of stacks and projects
