Quantum STEM School is hiring an After School Instructor for our hands-on, play-based after school program serving elementary-age students.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can take an active role in creating a fun, safe, organized, and engaging environment. Our program includes games, STEM activities, crafts, outdoor play, homework time, and other enrichment activities.
This position is ideal for someone with previous experience working with children who is comfortable independently supervising groups of students while also working as part of a team.
Pay: $22–$30/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 4:00 PM–6:30 PM
Friday: 2:00 PM–6:30 PM
Full-time schedule follows the Snoqualmie Valley School District calendar.
Start Date: Immediate
Responsibilities:
- Supervise elementary-age students and maintain a safe, welcoming environment
- Lead and participate in games, STEM activities, crafts, and outdoor play
- Engage with students and help create a positive after-school experience
- Support homework and other quiet activities as needed
- Manage transitions and daily routines
- Assist with classroom setup, organization, and cleanup
- Communicate and work collaboratively with other staff
- Follow program policies and Washington State licensed childcare requirements
- Help maintain appropriate behavior expectations and provide positive guidance to students
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children
- Enjoy working and actively engaging with elementary-age students
- Reliable, responsible, and able to arrive on time
- Comfortable supervising groups of children
- Able to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to complete all applicable Washington State/DCYF requirements for working in a licensed childcare program, including background check, MERIT requirements, CPR/First Aid, and required training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in childcare, education, after-school programs, camps, recreation, tutoring, or a similar setting
- Experience leading activities or managing groups of elementary-age children
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and/or existing MERIT qualifications are a plus
