Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a behavioral based intervention/therapy applied to children with autism and other developmental delays that focuses on improving skills in specific domains of functioning, such as social skills, communication, play, learning skills, motor dexterity, hygiene, and grooming, and more.

Our Behavior Technicians (Child Development Instructors) are the front-line staff working directly with the children we serve under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The Behavior Technician is responsible for running the child's treatment/lesson plan and teaching socially significant skills to improve the quality of life of the children we serve through the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).


Behavior Technicians will run sessions between 2 to 4 hours with a child at our amazing clinics which include conducive learning areas such as a sensory gym, sensory room, outdoor play yard, 1:1 rooms, constructive/pretend play areas, and circle time. Additional work environments may include child home or community environments. Behavior Technicians will have ongoing support from onsite supervisors assisting with curriculum, environmental management, and professional growth opportunities.

Duties

  • Implement age-appropriate interactions and activities that encourage cognitive, physical, and emotional development.
  • Assess children's abilities and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters respect and collaboration among children.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and activities.
  • Maintain accurate data collection of clients progress and activities.
  • Stay updated on best ABA practices in child development and early education.


Hourly Pay:

  • Clinical Responsibilities (98% of position): $20.00 to $25.75
  • Administrative Responsibilities (trainings, clerical work, etc.,): $17.28

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Occasional weekends

Requirements

  • A minimum of a HS diploma or BA/BS in the field of Psychology, Child Development, Social Work or related fields.
  • Experience working with children in either childcare, education, behavioral based interventions is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching children.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to work 20-40 hours/week
  • Valid California Class C driver's license, insurance, and own transportation
  • Strong understanding of child development theories and practices.

  • Physical: Able to perform physical duties with ease: bend, kneel, squat, sit on floor, run, climb stairs, reach, grab, lift up to 45lbs., sometimes for extended periods of time. Also hear, talk on phone and use hands to operate equipment.
