Position Overview
A Non‑Medical Home Care Worker provides compassionate, supportive, and reliable assistance to clients who need help with daily living tasks in the comfort of their homes. This role focuses on promoting independence, safety, dignity, and overall well‑being—without performing any medical or clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
- Support safe mobility and transfers
- Provide toileting assistance and incontinence care
- Encourage independence while offering appropriate support
Homemaking & Household Support
- Light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, sweeping, tidying)
- Meal planning and preparation
- Changing linens and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Running errands and grocery shopping (as assigned)
Companionship & Social Support
- Engage clients in conversation and meaningful activities
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Accompany clients on walks or community outings (non‑medical)
Medication Reminders
- Remind clients to take medications at scheduled times
- Document reminders according to agency policy
(No medication administration)
Client Safety & Reporting
- Observe and report changes in client condition
- Follow all agency policies, care plans, and safety procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and respect client rights
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Ability to lift, bend, and assist with mobility tasks
Preferred :
- Experience in home care, caregiving, or related fields
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Training in dementia care or senior support
Work Environment
- Client homes in Clark, Greene, and Montgomery Counties, among others
- Flexible scheduling based on client needs
- Work may involve standing, lifting, and assisting with mobility
