Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in paralegal, certificate, or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience as administrative/office assistant (preferably legal setting)
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, ability to multitask and prioritize, excellent verbal and written communication, professional
  • Self-motivated to work independently, be resourceful and foster a positive cohesive team atmosphere, pro-active team player
  • Ability to prioritize workloads, adapt to competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe
  • Clio Grow and Clio Manage is a plus
  • Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing demands
  • Solution oriented
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • This is an in-person job, not remote


Education and Experience:

  • BA, Associate or Certificate in a relevant field.
  • Drug, Alcohol, Domestic Violence and Sexual Deviancy evaluation and treatment coordination 3-5 years (Preferred)
  • Department of Licensing 3-5 years (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office 3-5 years (Required)
  • Administrative experience (Required)
  • Legal: 3 years (Preferred)


Role Overview/Responsibilities:

As the Treatment Compliance Coordinator and DOL Specialist at PLG, your primary responsibilities include managing treatment compliance and Department of Licensing issues for our criminal defense caseload at a fast-paced law firm. These responsibilities include:


Treatment Compliance Coordinator:

  • Act as the main point of contact for all PLG clients requiring court-ordered treatment, including chemical dependency, mental health, domestic violence, anger management, community service, parenting classes, defensive driving, and medical records.
  • Obtain Release of Information and maintain electronic records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Coordinate with medical professionals, treatment and service providers, and multiple Washington State Courts.
  • Prepare documents and reports for filing before court hearings or trials.
  • File all compliance documents with the courts on multiple electronic platforms.
  • Coordinate with treatment agencies to ensure timely filing of monthly reports with the court, ensuring clients are in compliance with court orders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, treatment providers, attorneys, paralegals, and courts.

Department of Licensing Specialist:

  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for Department of Licensing (DOL) hearings, including client records, evidence, and legal forms.
  • Provide clients with guidance on hearing processes, potential outcomes, and license reinstatement procedures.
  • Manage all follow-up actions, including assisting clients in obtaining necessary approvals for license restoration.
  • Maintain attorney calendar for all DOL hearings.

  • Knowledge in drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment coordination with clients, law office and courts.
  • Knowledge in Department of Licensing issues.
  • Knowledge of Washington State Court rules and filing systems, including LINX, Odyssey, OCourts, KCDC, KIT District, USDC-Pacer, KCScript, Seattle Municipal Portal, eFileWA, and JIS.
  • Proficiency in Clio Grow, Clio Manage,
  • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Clio, Excel and OneDrive.
