Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience (Required)
  • Certificate or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, ability to multitask and prioritize, excellent verbal and written communication, professional
  • Self-motivated to work independently, be resourceful and foster a positive cohesive team atmosphere, pro-active team player
  • Ability to prioritize workloads, adapt to competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, SharePoint, OneDrive and Excel
  • Clio Grow and Clio Manage is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus


Experience and Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience
  • 5+ years administrative experience
  • 3-5 years Microsoft Office
  • Proficient and competent in managing criminal caseload from intake through post disposition in all Washington State and Federal jurisdictions
  • Draft, prepare and file motions, declarations, proposed orders and other court documents in all Washington State and Federal jurisdictions
  • Maintain, monitor and update attorneys' hearing calendars
  • Communicate effectively with court staff, prosecutors and clients
  • Work effectively with a team of Attorneys, Treatment Compliance Coordinators, DOL Specialists, Legal Assistants, Intake and Front Desk Coordinator to provide the best client experience and achieve great results
  • Communicate with clients to provide updated hearing and case information
  • Maintain, monitor and update attorneys’ trial calendars
  • Manage case files using our electronic case management systems
  • Schedule witnesses for defense interviews and manage witness files
  • Prepare and organize physical case files, discovery and trial binders
  • Prepare, file and serve witness lists and subpoenas for trial
  • Communicate with and schedule witnesses for trial
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials
  • Communicate with court staff, prosecutors and clients
  • Download, review, organize and index criminal investigation materials
  • Meet with clients for discovery review
  • Perform additional tasks when assigned

  • Knowledge of Washington State Court rules and filing systems, including LINX, Odyssey, OCourts, KCDC, KIT District, USDC-Pacer, KCScript, Seattle Municipal Portal, eFileWA, and JIS
  • Proficiency in Clio Grow and Clio Manage
  • Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Clio, Excel and OneDrive
  • Knowledge in drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment coordination with clients, law office and courts is a plus
  • Knowledge of Department of Licensing issues is a plus
