About PteroDynamics Inc.

Founded in 2017, PteroDynamics, Inc. is a private equity backed aircraft design and manufacturing company headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We develop autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft systems based on our proprietary Transwing® design.

The Transwing’s wings fold during flight to transition between configurations optimized for vertical and horizontal flight. This allows the aircraft to take off and land without a runway, like a helicopter, and cruise with the efficiency of a streamlined fixed-wing aircraft.

Description

About Us

PteroDynamics Inc. designs superior autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft systems that fly faster and go farther to reach remote locations without runways, even in harsh conditions. PteroDynamics’ Transwing® aircraft is unlike any other VTOL system, performing like a great fixed-wing aircraft with superb VTOL capabilities.

Transwing aircraft unfold their wings to transition smoothly and quickly between vertical and horizontal flight, overcoming limitations inherent in other VTOL designs by combining fixed-wing aircraft speed, range, and endurance with superior VTOL performance in an efficient, highly automated platform. The Transwing is ideal for automating time-sensitive delivery of critical high-value payloads to hard-to-reach locations, including maritime logistics support, payload delivery to remote locations without airstrips, and reconnaissance and surveillance.

  • Assist with standardizing drawing templates, symbols, notes, and drafting practices.
  • Support the development of manufacturing work instructions, inspection aids, and other technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in drafting, design documentation, or a related engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience creating and revising engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, tooling, or manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with CAD or drafting software used to develop production drawings and technical documentation.
  • Ability to interpret 3D models, sketches, engineering redlines, and technical inputs to produce accurate drawings.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawing conventions, including dimensions, tolerances, section views, detail views, notes, and revision control.
  • Ability to create clear technical illustrations and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team based in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Experience in aerospace, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), composites, automotive, defense, or other complex hardware environments.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, prototyping, assembly, inspection, maintenance, or related technical work.
  • Experience developing exploded views, assembly illustrations, standard work instructions, or other technical illustrations.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM), product data management (PDM), document control, and engineering change processes.
  • Experience collaborating directly with machinists, technicians, and engineers to resolve technical drawing questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance accuracy and efficiency while managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
