Protect Each One Consulting, LLC is seeking a Master of Social Work (MSW)-prepared clinician to serve as a Supervisee in Social Work pursuing licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This position provides the opportunity to deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based clinical services while completing the required 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience in accordance with Virginia Board of Social Work regulations (18VAC140-20-50).
The supervisee will practice under the direction of a Board-approved LCSW supervisor and engage in structured supervision, clinical documentation, and direct client care
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Service Delivery
- Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to clients across the lifespan
- Deliver services addressing:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety and depression
- Stress and burnout
- Life transitions and interpersonal challenges
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and diagnosis (under supervision)
- Implement evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions
Supervised Clinical Experience (VA Compliance)
- Accrue 3,000 hours of supervised post-MSW clinical experience
- Complete a minimum of:
- 1,380 hours of direct client contact
- 100 hours of clinical supervision
- Participate in supervision at a rate of 1–4 hours per 40 hours worked
- Engage in both individual and allowable group supervision (per Board limits)
- Maintain compliance with Virginia Board supervision registration requirements prior to beginning hours
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete clinical documentation in accordance with:
- Virginia Board of Social Work Regulations
- Ethical standards (e.g., NASW Code of Ethics)
- Organizational policies
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Clinical hours
- Direct client contact hours
- Supervision hours
- Participate in audits or reviews as required
Professional Development
- Actively participate in:
- Clinical case consultation
- Training and continuing education opportunities
- Demonstrate growth in:
- Clinical judgment
- Ethical decision-making
- Trauma-informed care practices
Supervision Structure
- Supervision will be provided by a Virginia-licensed LCSW who:
- Meets Board requirements (minimum 2 years post-licensure experience)
- Has completed supervision training
- A formal supervision contract will be established and submitted to the Virginia Board
- Supervision will include:
- Case review
- Clinical skill development
- Ethical and legal guidance
- Professional identity development
Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- Eligible to register as a Supervisee in Social Work in Virginia
- Completion of required clinical coursework and practicum (minimum 600 hours)
- Strong interest in clinical practice and LCSW licensure
- Ability to obtain and maintain:
- Background check clearance
- Professional liability insurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in:
- Trauma-informed care
- Behavioral health or clinical settings
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms (e.g., Zoom, Simple Practice)
- Experience working with diverse populations
Work Environment & Expectations

- Must maintain a consistent caseload to meet supervision hour requirements

Compensation Structure
- Compensation is based on:
- Completed clinical sessions
- Caseload volume
- Employment classification (1099)
- Supervision may be:
- Provided as part of employment or
- Offered at a reduced or separate rate (as applicable)

This position is structured to meet the requirements of the Virginia Board of Social Work for LCSW licensure supervision, including:
- Pre-approval of supervision prior to accruing hours
- Completion of 3,000 supervised clinical hours
- Minimum 1,380 hours of direct client contact
- Minimum 100 hours of supervision
- Completion within the Board-required timeframe

All candidates selected for this position must successfully complete a comprehensive pre-employment screening process in accordance with organizational policy and applicable Virginia regulations. This includes:
- Criminal Background Check: Verification of criminal history through state and federal databases
- Child Protective Services (CPS) Check: Clearance through the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) Central Registry, as applicable
- License/Education Verification: Confirmation of MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program and eligibility for supervision registration with the Virginia Board of Social Work
- Professional Reference Checks: Verification of prior clinical, academic, or professional experience
- Identity Verification (I-9 Compliance): Documentation confirming authorization to work in the United States
Employment is contingent upon successful completion and satisfactory review of all required screenings. Any findings that may impact the ability to provide safe, ethical, and compliant clinical services will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis in alignment with state regulations and organizational standards.
