Position Summary

Protect Each One Consulting LLC is seeking a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide trauma-informed psychiatric care within a flexible, part-time model.

This role uniquely combines:

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) brief solution-focused care, and
  • Extended, comprehensive psychiatric sessions for evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management

The ideal candidate is experienced in working with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and occupational burnout, and is comfortable balancing short-term EAP models with longer, clinically complex sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations including diagnostic assessments
  • Provide medication management and follow-ups
  • Deliver clinical individual and EAP-based medical interventions using solution-focused approaches
  • Integrate trauma-informed, culturally responsive care into all services
  • Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and care team members within the practice and other health care entities in which Protect Each One Consulting have contractual agreements.

Provide Clinical and EAP Services

  • Provide long-term and/or short-term, goal-oriented mental health support for clients
  • Address workplace-related concerns such as:
  • Stress and burnout
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Work-life balance
  • Organizational or interpersonal conflict
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or Disability Assessment claims
  • Maintain appropriate documentation aligned with EAP requirements
  • Provide longer sessions for complex clinical needs, including trauma and comorbid conditions
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor medication efficacy and adjust as clinically necessary for clinical group practice setting and/or EAP services

Qualifications

  • Active PMHNP-BC certification
  • Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license (prefer candidate(s) to have active licensed in Alabama, Maryland and Illinois
  • Must be DEA license to prescribe
  • Experience in mental health, trauma-informed care, or behavioral health settings
  • Experience with or willingness to work within group practice and EAP models
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum experience of 5 years Nurse Practitioner with DEA license to prescribe
  • Experience with military, veterans, complex individual medical needs, first responders, or high-stress professions
  • Knowledge of complex levels of trauma and mental health diagnosis to include secondary trauma exposure (i.e. burnout, and compassion fatigue)
  • Experience in telehealth service delivery
  • Interest in integrated behavioral health or collaborative care models

Work Schedule

  • Flexible scheduling (evenings and/or weekends available)
  • Minimum commitment: 10 hours per week (compensation is based upon each individual session rendered to client with completed notes and approved documentation by rendering contractual insurance agreement.
  • Ability to build and maintain caseload based on upon ethic standards of the Virgina State Board of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and other states as applicable.
