We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in leading client engagements, overseeing financial operations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, FAR, and other industry-specific regulations. Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and project accounting.
  • Review and prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, FAR/DFARS, and internal policies.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support client decision-making.
  • Assist with government contract accounting (DCAA compliance, indirect rate calculations, and cost allocations).
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Staff Accountants and interns, reviewing their work for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve accounting workflows, implement automation, and optimize use of tools such as QuickBooks, Unanet, Paylocity, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing clear financial insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and other advisors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA or other accounting certification (e.g., ABA, CB) strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP; experience with FAR/DFARS compliance is a plus.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Unanet, and Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
