Description

About the Role

We are hiring an Account Executive to build relationships with manufacturers and lead the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through expansion. You will work with plant managers, operations executives, industrial engineers, and quality leaders to identify where Dexter can deliver measurable operational value.

Our customers manage complex production environments where scheduling, capacity, and quality decisions depend on fragmented data and hard-won operational knowledge. You will develop a detailed understanding of their workflows and connect those challenges to a clear business case for ProDex.

You will own discovery, demonstrations, site visits, pilot scoping, commercial negotiations, and account growth. Working closely with our engineers, you will establish success criteria around a high-value use case and help customers expand adoption as they see results.

As an early member of the commercial team, you will help shape our sales approach, industry focus, and go-to-market strategy. Success requires disciplined execution, technical curiosity, and the ability to navigate buying decisions involving operations, finance, IT, security, and procurement.

In this role, you will

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline within your territory or industry vertical, owning new customer acquisition, forecasting, renewals, and expansion.
  • Lead substantive discovery that connects production constraints, work in process, scheduling, and quality costs to a quantified business case.
  • Lead product demonstrations and on-site discovery with manufacturing teams, building trusted relationships with operational champions and executive buyers.
  • Partner with engineering to scope pilots, define measurable success criteria, coordinate delivery, and convert demonstrated value into long-term agreements.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and coordinate technical, security, and procurement reviews; use customer and market feedback to improve positioning, pricing, and the sales process.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience closing complex B2B software deals, with a demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding new business targets.
  • Experience selling to manufacturing, operations, or supply chain leaders and building business cases around operational and financial outcomes.
  • Experience developing pipeline and creating demand for an emerging product or category.
  • Ability to learn a technical product in depth and communicate its value credibly to engineers, plant leaders, and executives.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30–50% for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Strong commercial judgment, disciplined pipeline management, and experience navigating sales involving multiple stakeholders.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience selling into aerospace and defense, food and beverage, metals, machining, or other complex manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience selling simulation, advanced planning and scheduling, MES, ERP-adjacent, or industrial analytics software.
  • An earlier career in manufacturing operations or engineering, or experience building a repeatable sales motion at an early-stage software company.

We encourage candidates with strong relevant experience to apply, including those whose backgrounds do not align with every qualification.
