Location: Minneapolis / Twin Cities Area, Minnesota
Reports To: Sales Manager / Director of Sales
Position Summary
The Sales Representative owns the full lifecycle of every project they sell — from first customer contact through final walkthrough, and collection of all payments. This is a cradle-to-grave role: sell the job, keep the homeowner informed, and close it out. This role suits a self-directed closer who also wants ownership and accountability for the finished product, not just the signature.
Core Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Sales
- Run company-provided leads and generate self-sourced leads through referrals, canvassing, storm/insurance response, and networking.
- Conduct in-home or on-site inspections, measure and assess roofing, siding, gutters, windows, and other exterior scopes.
- Deliver accurate estimates and proposals using company pricing and materials guidelines.
- Present financing, insurance claim assistance, and material options to homeowners; close sales and collect required deposits/paperwork.
- Maintain an active pipeline in the CRM with accurate stage, follow-up, and up to date information in files.
- Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales and margin targets.
Pre-Production & Project Setup
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters and assist customers through the claims process where applicable.
- Assist in supplementation of claims where needed, etc.
- Conduct pre-construction walkthroughs with the customer to confirm scope, colors, and site conditions.
- Set customer expectations on timeline, process, and points of contact before work begins.
Project Management & Production Oversight
- Act as the single point of contact for the customer throughout construction.
- Identify and work with the internal office team to resolve field issues, change orders, and supplement requests; document and price change orders correctly.
- Maintain job files: contracts, photos, inspection records, etc.
- Communicate proactively with customers on schedule changes, weather delays, and progress updates.
Closeout & Customer Care
- Conduct final walkthrough and punch list with the customer; confirm satisfaction before marking the job as completed.
- Collect final payment and turn into the office in a timely manner.
- Follow up post-completion for referrals, reviews, and repeat business.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales experience; exterior construction, roofing, or home improvement sales strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of exterior construction methods (roofing, siding, gutters, windows) and basic estimating/measuring.
- Experience managing similar projects, or strong aptitude to learn project coordination.
- Familiarity with insurance restoration/claims process is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through; comfortable owning a job from contract to final payment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. CRM and basic estimating software proficiency.
- Ability to walk roofs and job sites and travel locally within the service area.
Compensation
Commission-based; project management responsibilities factored into commission structure. Details reviewed during the interview.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistent sales-to-close ratio and pipeline activity.
- Jobs run on schedule and on budget, with minimal callbacks.
- High customer satisfaction and referral/review generation.
