Prism Health Lab is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (or equivalent advanced practice provider) to oversee mobile COVID-19 vaccination events, school-required immunization clinics, and initiatives throughout Illinois. This role combines clinical leadership, hands-on patient care, and staff training oversight. You will work alongside Licensed Clinicians, Medical Assistants, EMTs, and Healthcare IT Technicians in dynamic mobile environments, including schools and community-based events. This is an opportunity to lead in the field while supporting public health initiatives across Illinois. *Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.*

Prism Health Lab is a community-based medical practice that has served Chicagoland residents since 1987. In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we pivoted our practice to support local communities and have made significant strides by focusing our efforts on COVID-19 specific services. To date, we have tested over 50,000 people. We’ve created eight permanent locations, each of which has an incredible story and was offered as a gift by the communities we serve. We’ve also built mobile teams that can work across the State, ready to be deployed as new hotspots arise. Location: Mobile community health events throughout the Chicago area


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight & Patient Care

  • Prepare and administer school-required and other approved vaccines.
  • Conduct school, sports, and general physical examinations.
  • Perform preventive health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and other event-specific testing.
  • Collect patient specimens and perform procedures such as phlebotomy, nasal swabs, and vital-sign assessments, as required.
  • Review immunization histories, medical records, consent forms, and patient information in the electronic health record system.
  • Identify missing immunizations or health requirements and explain recommended next steps to patients and families.
  • Provide patient education regarding vaccines, screening results, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Answer patient and parent questions regarding services, results, follow-up care, and treatment recommendations.
  • Refer patients for additional medical evaluation or follow-up when needs fall outside the services available at the event.


Staff Leadership & Education

  • Assess, plan, and implement competency assessments and continuing education
  • Lead orientation and onboarding of new clinical staff
  • Conduct in-services and protocol trainings
  • Oversee Medical Assistants and provide backup support as needed
  • Provide input on staff performance reviews and corrective action plans
  • Stay current with clinical literature and evolving public health guidance
  • Implement process improvements aligned with organizational goals

Education, Experience & Licensing

  • Active Illinois Nurse Practitioner license (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (Required)
  • Experience in mobile clinics or school-based health preferred
  • Spanish-speaking ability preferred (not required)

Salary

$60 - $65 per hour
