Prism Health Lab is a community-based medical practice that has served Chicagoland residents since 1987. In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we pivoted our practice to support local communities and have made significant strides by focusing our efforts on COVID-19 specific services. To date, we have tested over 50,000 people. We’ve created eight permanent locations, each of which has an incredible story and was offered as a gift by the communities we serve. We’ve also built mobile teams that can work across the State, ready to be deployed as new hotspots arise. We’re dedicated to our neighbors and have partnered with a variety of organizations and leaders including local and County Health Departments, school districts, the City of Chicago and its Aldermen, food banks, Brookfield Zoo, and professional organizations like the Chicago Medical Society.

Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional, physical, and informational support to expecting mothers before, during, and after childbirth.
• Assist with comfort measures and pain relief techniques during labor.
• Educate clients on childbirth options and help them create birth plans that align with their preferences.
• Advocate for the client's needs and preferences within the healthcare system.
• Offer breastfeeding support and guidance in the postpartum period.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Requirements:

• Certification as a Doula from a recognized training program (DONA, CAPPA, etc.).
• Proven experience as a Doula, with a strong track record of supporting families during childbirth.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of childbirth techniques, comfort measures, and pain relief options.
• Empathy and compassion towards expecting families.
• Availability to be on-call and flexible hours as needed.

Transportation Requirements:

• This position requires reliable transportation to and from multiple work locations. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to their own vehicle. Since shifts may be scheduled during overnight hours, employees are expected to ensure they can arrive on time to their assigned shift, regardless of schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications in lactation counseling, childbirth education, or related fields.
• Experience working in diverse communities or with underserved populations.
• Bilingual (Spanish, English, French, Arabic, etc.)

• $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
