Job Opening: Respiratory Therapist

Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine

Location: Denison, TX (with travel to satellite clinic locations as needed)

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Summary

Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) to join our growing team. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with our pulmonology and sleep medicine providers to assist in the evaluation, treatment, and education of patients with respiratory and sleep-related disorders.

This position requires excellent patient care skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our patients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform pulmonary function testing (PFTs), spirometry, and related respiratory diagnostic procedures.
  • Educate patients on respiratory diseases, medications, inhalers, nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and PAP therapy.
  • Assist providers during patient visits and procedures as needed.
  • Provide CPAP/BiPAP setup, troubleshooting, and patient education.
  • Review sleep study results and reinforce provider recommendations.
  • Monitor and document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate care with providers, DME companies, home health agencies, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with inventory management and ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training activities.
  • Crosstrain and assist with other clinical duties as required.
  • Help with front desk and or MA duties when needed (Training is provided)

Qualifications

  • Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Texas.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Previous pulmonary, sleep medicine, or outpatient clinic experience preferred.
  • Strong computer and EMR skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with pulmonary function testing and sleep medicine.
  • Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP therapy and respiratory equipment.
  • Exceptional customer service and patient-centered care.
  • Leadership and problem-solving abilities.
