Front Desk Medical Setting: 2 years (Required)
Responsibilities
. Send orders for CT scans and other orders, schedule procedures, Sleep studies, schedule PFTs and six minute walk test

• Help with check in when needed as well

Front Office Receptionist position is responsible for greeting patients, appointment scheduling, cashiering, answering phones and maintaining medical records
•
The role of this position is to participate in a variety of activities
•
Operates multiline telephone system
•
Answers incoming calls in a warm and caring manner, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel
•
Transfers calls or takes and delivers accurate messages, according to office policies, when appropriate personnel are unavailable
•
Answers questions and provides callers with address, directions, and other information
•
Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors in a friendly manner
•
Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler and gives patient an appointment card
•
Handles patient registration, verifies patient's records are up-to-date & accurate, and updates all information in the computer
•
Knowledgeable of contracted insurance plans and procedures
•
Maintain and request referrals
•
Works closely with back staff to achieve maximum patient flow
•
Print daily balance reports
•
Receives co-payments and logs them in
•
Assist with billing and collections as needed
•

Maintain office supplies
•
Maintains the appearance of front desk area, tidies the lobby
•
Maintains confidentiality and distribution of medical records
•
