Description

AI Solutions Engineer, Clinical & Life Sciences

Role Summary

We're seeking a Clinical Solutions Engineer who bridges the gap between our life sciences customers and our engineering team. In this role, you'll be the translator and validator.  We are looking for someone with strong tech/product instincts and scientific literacy who can understand customer workflows, scientific principles, and regulatory context deeply enough to identify what customers actually need, while possessing the technical judgment to communicate those needs to engineers, assess feasibility, and ensure our conversational AI products deliver clinical accuracy and real value.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Discovery & Problem Validation

  • Talk with clinical, market access, and medical teams at customer organizations to understand their workflows and how conversational simulation fits into their practice
  • Validate feature requests and bug reports against real clinical requirements. Separate surface-level asks from root problems, and turn the real ones into specs engineering can act on
  • Decide whether a customer problem is in-scope for the product or needs a different solution
  • Spot patterns across customers that point to product opportunities or systemic issues

Product Quality & Accuracy

  • Review product content and functionality for scientific/clinical accuracy, working with customers and domain experts to validate correctness
  • Own clinical sign-off and acceptance criteria for customer-facing releases, in partnership with product and engineering. New hires ramp into full sign-off authority alongside a senior teammate or manager
  • Work with [clinical advisory reviewers, if applicable] on content that needs specialist review, and help set a review cadence for updating content when clinical guidelines change
  • Help define and follow escalation paths and severity guidelines for clinical-accuracy issues (for example, a confirmed clinical-accuracy bug gets triaged within [X] business hours), and participate in root-cause analysis
  • Recognize and escalate any safety-relevant content appropriately

Customer Success & Implementation

  • Guide customers through implementation and configuration
  • Advise on best practices for deploying conversational training in clinical settings
  • Support sales with technical and domain answers during demos and evaluations
  • Feed implementation learnings back into roadmap priorities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product management on feature priorities and roadmap decisions
  • Work with engineering on sprint planning, design reviews, and UAT for clinical features
  • Help marketing keep messaging clinically accurate
  • Tell the rest of the team what you're learning about regulatory and clinical requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years in a customer-facing technical role (solutions engineering, technical PM, implementation engineering, or similar), along with a current or prior clinical credential (RN, PA, PharmD, MD, etc.) or 2+ years in a clinical/life sciences role, plus a demonstrated ability to pick up technical tools fast
  • Can read technical documentation, follow architecture discussions, and reason about feasibility with an engineering team
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of: REST APIs, SQL/databases, or debugging third-party integrations (or a clear track record of picking up technical tools quickly, if coming from a clinical background)
  • A baseline in science or medicine: coursework, clinical work experience, or a comparable technical domain you ramped into quickly (tell us about it)
  • Real interest in AI, models, and prompting, and how they can be applied to real clinical and pharma problems
  • Experience with conversational AI, chatbots, or simulation technology
  • Startup experience, or exposure to agile/product development

Core Competencies

  • Problem-solving: finds root causes, separates correlation from causation, asks clarifying questions when requirements are vague
  • Communication: translates fluently between clinical/scientific and technical audiences; writes specs and bug reports that hold up through an engineering handoff without rework
  • Judgment: knows when to push back on requirements and which features actually matter
  • Curiosity: about both medicine and technology. You want to understand how conversational AI, models, and prompting actually work, not just what they do for customers
  • Comfort with ambiguity: this is an early-stage company, and boundaries aren't always defined

Compensation, Benefits & Additional Notes

  • Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 (based on experience and background)
  • Equity: Competitive startup equity package
  • Health insurance, 401(k), and other standard benefits
  • Flexible PTO
  • Travel–25%-50%
  • Location–On-site/Hybrid New Metropolitan Area
