We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to join our practice. This role supports a dynamic environment where advanced pain management techniques, including orthobiologic therapies, are performed. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with independent procedures, including blood draws for orthobiologic treatments, and have the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates with prior EMT training or similar procedural experience are encouraged to apply.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the interventional pain physician in clinical procedures, including preparation and follow-up.
  • Perform venipuncture and blood draws with precision and efficiency for orthobiologic therapies such as PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) preparation.
  • Prepare patients and procedure rooms, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Provide direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and patient education related to procedures.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to safety protocols during procedures.
  • Manage laboratory processing for blood-based orthobiologic treatments, including centrifuge operation.
  • Document clinical notes, update medical records, and manage patient data accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.
  • Provide compassionate patient support and address questions or concerns about their care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification (CMA/RMA) preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
  • CPR certification required
  • EMT certification or equivalent training with procedural experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and blood draw techniques; experience with orthobiologics is a strong advantage.
  • Previous experience in a pain management or procedural clinic setting required.
  • Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently perform procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Fine motor skills for precision tasks such as venipuncture and handling of lab equipment.
