We are currently seeking an experienced, confident Hairstylist to join our team at Ft. Leonard Wood.

Plush Rose Blowout Bar is a team-based, structured salon environment focused on delivering consistent, high-quality services across all hair textures. We are not a booth rental or commission-based salon we offer a more stable, professional approach designed for stylists who want consistency, growth, and a strong team culture.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

This role is best suited for stylists who:

• Have prior experience working in a professional salon environment
• Are confident working with all hair textures and curl patterns
• Can perform core services independently without supervision
• Are comfortable performing a variety of services (not just one specialty)
• Take pride in professionalism, reliability, and client experience

SERVICES YOU’LL PERFORM

• Blowouts with Plush Rose finishing
• Silk press services
• Shampoo, conditioning, and hot towel treatments
• Haircuts and trims
• Natural styling (twist-outs, loc retwists)
• Basic color services (root touch-ups, glosses, toners, highlights)
• Light extension blending (clip-ins, tape-ins if trained)
• Perms and relaxers
• Basic facial waxing (if trained)

SCHEDULE

Part-time position (minimum 16 hours/week)

Required availability:

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Additional hours may become available based on demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete services within scheduled timeframes
• Maintain a polished, professional appearance
• Provide excellent client communication and experience
• Keep workstation clean and organized
• Follow sanitation and salon protocols
• Capture simple work photos/videos (hair and hands only)
• Attend required trainings

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid cosmetology license (any U.S. state)
• Ability to work with all hair textures
• Strong blow-drying, tension, and finishing skills
• Ability to maintain a professional pace behind the chair

A short skills demonstration may be required during the interview process.

BASE REQUIREMENTS (FT. LEONARD WOOD)

• Must pass background check for base access
• Must serve all customers
• License must be available for inspection
• Must follow sanitation regulations (TB MED 531 & AFI 48-117)
• Must complete required annual training

COMPENSATION

$24.19 per hour total compensation, including:

• $18.64/hour base pay
• $5.55/hour in fringe benefits (per federal guidelines)

WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR

This position is not suited for brand-new stylists who are still building foundational skills or require constant supervision.
