Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with experience or familiarity in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment to join our clinical team. The LVN will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to individuals undergoing treatment for substance use and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about addiction, recovery support, medication management, and patient-centered care within a behavioral health or detoxification setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients receiving treatment for Substance Use Disorders.
- Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and overall health status.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for effectiveness and side effects.
- Assist in the implementation of detoxification and recovery treatment plans.
- Document patient care and progress in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and behavioral health professionals to support patient recovery.
- Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
- Educate patients on medication, recovery, and wellness strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of Texas
- Experience in Substance Use Disorder treatment, detox, behavioral health, or addiction medicine preferred.
- Knowledge of withdrawal monitoring tools (such as CIWA or COWS) preferred.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals in recovery and those experiencing behavioral health challenges.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in:
- Detox or residential treatment programs
- Behavioral health facilities
- Kipu (EMR)
- Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs
- Familiarity with medications used in addiction treatment (e.g., buprenorphine, naltrexone, methadone).
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
