The Plant Installation Crew supports the setup, styling, maintenance, and breakdown of live plant installations for events and design projects. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and collaborative, requiring individuals who are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in dynamic environments like convention centers and photo studios. This is a 1099 contractor position based on project needs and scheduling availability.

Description
Key Responsibilities
Event & Convention Installations
- Assist with transporting, staging, and installing plants, planters, and décor for events
- Set up plant walls, totems, tabletop styling, and temporary green installations
- Follow design direction and floor plans to execute installs efficiently
- Support breakdown, packing, and return of plant materials
Photo Sets & Design Projects
- Style plants for photo shoots, brand activations, and visual installations
- Adjust placement for lighting, camera angles, and client needs
- Maintain plant health during short-term activations
Logistics & Operations
- Load and unload vehicles with plants, tools, and materials
- Keep installation areas clean, organized, and safe
- Work collaboratively with designers, crew leads, and client teams
Qualifications
- Experience with event setup, stagehands, retail visual merchandising, plant care, or installations preferred
- Ability to lift and move plants, soil, and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on event schedules
- Reliable transportation required; ability to travel to regional venues is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills and professional attitude on client sites
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Plant care or horticulture knowledge
- Convention center or trade show experience
- Photo set or creative production experience
- Experience using tools, ladders, or basic installation hardware
- Familiarity with visual design or styling
Compensation & Structure
- Project-based contractor pay (hourly or day rate depending on assignment)
- Flexible scheduling based on event bookings

Important Contractor Notes
- This is an independent contractor role (1099) as needed
- Contractors provide their own transportation and basic work attire
- Plant and People provides design direction, materials, and installation plans
Salary
$12.5 - $15.5 per hour
