The Farmers Market Manager will oversee planning, logistics, setup, and day-of operations for all farmers market activities. This role requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing inventory, cash handling, and scheduling. The ideal candidate has previous market, retail, or event coordination experience, owns a reliable vehicle, and enjoys working in community-focused environments.

Description

Planning & Scheduling

  • Create and maintain farmers market schedules, vendor requirements, and staffing plans
  • Coordinate weekly market logistics including arrival times, booth setup needs, and product planning
  • Communicate with market organizers and internal team members

Operations & Logistics

  • Transport supplies and materials to and from markets (must have personal vehicle)
  • Manage booth setup, breakdown, and visual presentation aligned with Plant and People’s brand
  • Organize inventory, signage, and equipment needed for each market

Sales & Cash Management

  • Track daily sales and reconcile cash and digital payments
  • Count and record money accurately following company procedures
  • Maintain inventory counts and assist with restocking

Team Coordination

  • Support and guide market staff or volunteers during events
  • Ensure smooth, professional customer experiences
  • Represent Plant and People with strong communication and community engagement

Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing farmers markets, retail pop-ups, events, or vendor booths
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Reliable transportation, insurance, and valid driver’s license required
  • Comfortable lifting plants, boxes, and market equipment (up to 30 lbs)
  • Experience handling cash and sales tracking preferred
  • Passion for plants, wellness, community engagement, or local markets is a plus
  • Open to learn

Salary

$12.5 - $13.5 per hour
