Pitch has developed a drone to install our line sensor, bird diverters, and other equipment on power lines. Our drone-deployable line sensors wirelessly transmit environmental and line characteristics to an online secure database to help utilities push more power through existing lines, prevent wildfires, and improve grid reliability. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site (Boise, ID) role for a Full Stack Developer. As a Full Stack Developer at Pitch Aeronautics, you will design and develop robust, scalable solutions for our software platform, which helps utility customers visualize and analyze operational, environmental, and risk-related data. In this role, you will work across the tech stack, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement infrastructure improvements. You will also be responsible for DevOps tasks and maintaining infrastructure in AWS, ensuring the smooth deployment and operation of our systems.


Responsibilities


  • Full Stack Development: Build and maintain scalable web applications that include front-end and back-end development.
  • Cloud Infrastructure (AWS): Design, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure using AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) to ensure high performance and availability.
  • DevOps: Implement CI/CD pipelines, manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes, and automate infrastructure tasks.
  • Data Integration: Integrate with IoT devices, third-party services, and external databases to ensure seamless data flow.
  • User Interface Design: Collaborate with UX/UI teams to build intuitive interfaces that provide actionable insights to utility operators.
  • API Development: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for secure communication between the platform, devices, and external applications.
  • Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive utility data, complying with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, other engineers, and QA to develop cohesive solutions that address customer needs. 

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with full stack development (front-end frameworks like React/Angular and back-end languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js).
  • Proficiency and experience in managing cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.
  • Proficiency and experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS tools and services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation).
  • Due to ITAR regulations and Government contract requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents based in the United States

Desired Qualifications


  • ML experience/proficiency
  • Prior experience in electric utility industry
  • Currently located in Treasure Valley (Idaho) 
  • Prior experience with weather data and weather modeling
  • CISSP or Security + certified (or other equivalent certification)
  • Familiarization with cybersecurity controls and frameworks
