This job posting is specific to the DoD’s Skillbridge program and is only open to personnel eligible to apply for a DoD Skillbridge program. Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply for SkillBridge. SkillBridge permits you to use up to the last 180 days of service to train and learn with an industry partner. During SkillBridge participation, you continue to receive military compensation and you are covered by your military benefits. Release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent, however, and your unit commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Engineer. As an Engineer at Pitch Aeronautics you will play a vital role in our mission to develop cutting-edge drones, and sensor technologies. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of engineering tasks, including designing, testing, and enhancing drone and sensor systems. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that drive the success of our organization. Pitch is looking for engineers with expertise in any of the following fields: electrical, mechanical, flight controls, embedded programming, and aeronautical/aerospace.


Responsibilities


  • Work with associated design team to develop new drone or sensor advancements. 
  • Work with associated design team to participate in drone/sensor testing
  • Perform relevant engineering (discipline specific) tasks.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field).
  • Practical experimental experience in related field
  • Proficiency in relevant software packages for related field (CAD, PCB Design, Simulink) 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Desired Qualifications


  • Prior experience with drone controls development
  • Prior experience with PCB design
  • Prior experience with microcontroller embedded coding
  • Prior experience with Nvidia Jetson
  • Prior experience with PX4 Autopilots
  • Prior flying experience and commercial drone certificate
  • Prior manufacturing experience (CNC, Rapid Prototyping, Woodworking, etc)
  • Prior experimental design and testing experience
