Pinkerton’s is a new bakery in the historic upstate city Kingston, NY by James Beard award winning Pastry Chef Angela Pinkerton. Chef Angela has spent the past twenty-five years driving bakery and fine dining restaurant pastry programs in San Francisco (Che Fico, Craftsman and Wolves, Pie Society), New York City (Eleven Madison Park) and the DC area (Ritz Carlton). Our menu features a wide range of nostalgic desserts, morning pastries, and sweet/savory cakes and pies, as well as a small menu of breakfast, and lunch items. Always baking from scratch, and using local seasonal ingredients, there will be a something for everyone, including gluten-free, and vegan options.

Description
This is not an entry level position, you must have prior experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen setting.
We are looking to add another talented Baker/Cook to our small team of hard working and talented individuals. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in top quality kitchens. The position will work 32-40 hours per week with a pay range of $17-20/hr plus tips (average hourly with tips 20-25$). Hourly pay rate is based on experience.
Responsibilities will include mixing and baking pastries, producing venoisserie, breads, cakes, pies, cookies, etc., as well lending a hand in sandwich assembly, preparing raw products, fillings, and custards. Savory prep, roasting chicken, bacon, and cutting fruit and vegetables, may also be part of your daily duties. Washing dishes, putting away inventory, mopping and maintaining a clean and organized workspace is a part of the day to day requirements, as well.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be organized and proactive, with the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and have reliable transportation to Kingston, NY.
