Pinkerton’s is a new bakery opening in the historic upstate city Kingston, NY by James Beard award winning Pastry Chef Angela Pinkerton. Chef Angela has spent the past twenty-five years driving bakery and fine dining restaurant pastry programs in San Francisco (Che Fico, Craftsman & Wolves, Pie Society), New York City (Eleven Madison Park) and the DC area (Ritz Carlton). Our menu will feature a wide range of nostalgic desserts, morning pastries, and sweet/savory cakes and pies, as well as a small menu of breakfast, and lunch items. Always baking from scratch, and using local seasonal ingredients, there will be a something for everyone, including gluten-free, and vegan options.
We are looking to add another talented Baker/Cook to our team. Position starts early to mid November. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in top quality kitchens. The position will work 36-40 hours per week with a pay range of $18-20/hr plus tips.
Responsibilities will include mixing and baking morning pastries, breads, cakes, pies, cookies, etc., as well as dough lamination, sandwich assembly, preparing fillings and custards, tempering chocolate, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with Chef Angela on recipe development and testing.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be organized and proactive, and have the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and have reliable transportation to Kingston, NY.
