What We Seek

We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Paralegal with Estates, Guardianship, Medicaid and Litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in managing high volume client cases, document drafting, and working collaboratively across departments. Clear and effective verbal and written communication with clients, attorneys, and other members of the team is an essential function of this role, as well as a comfortable grasp on modern legal technology and case management practices. Candidates with exceptional organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, and commitment to customer services are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage client cases from intake to file closing.
  • Draft deeds, trusts, wills, powers of attorney and health care directives.
  • Draft Orphans’ Court petitions, decrees and forms required for guardianships and estate
  • administration.
  • Prepare probate petitions, Inventories and Administration Accounts
  • Assist with sale and transfer of assets, including real estate
  • Prepare various probate filings and prepare attorney for court proceedings
  • Schedule and manage court filings in timely manner
  • Maintain and balance Estate & Trust checkbooks
  • Prepare Receipts and Releases in connection with distributions from an estate or trust
  • Provide reporting and present relevant case data as requested.
  • Respond to client written and verbal correspondence in a timely and professional manner,
  • ensuring their requests or disputes are resolved satisfactorily.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a paralegal role
  • At least one year of experience in Estate Planning, Administration, Guardianship, or Medicaid planning work

  • Proficiency with legal software and systems such as Lackner, Lawmatics, MyCase, or
  • similar
  • Experience with meeting and exceeding billable hour requirements and other role specific goals
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Google Mail, Google Calendar),
  • Internet research skills, document management systems, attorney time entry software.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong research and report-generating skills
  • Highly developed time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the
  • ability to multitask
  • Ability to operate office equipment and software
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Minimal travel required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate, Associates, and/or Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies
  • Experience preparing inheritance and fiduciary tax returns is a plus
