What We Seek

We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Paralegal with Estates, Guardianship, Medicaid and Litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in managing high volume client cases, document drafting, and working collaboratively across departments. Clear and effective verbal and written communication with clients, attorneys, and other members of team is an essential function of this role. Candidates with exceptional organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, and commitment to customer services are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage client cases from intake to file closing.
  • Draft deeds, trusts, wills, powers of attorney and health care directives.
  • Draft Orphans’ Court petitions, decrees and forms required for guardianships and estate administration.
  • Prepare probate petitions, Inventories and Administration Accounts
  • Experience preparing inheritance and fiduciary tax returns is a plus
  • Assist with sale and transfer of assets, including real estate
  • Prepare various probate filings and prepare attorney for court proceedings
  • Schedule and manage court filings in timely manner
  • Maintain and balance Estate & Trust checkbooks
  • Prepare Receipts and Releases in connection with distributions from an estate or trust
  • Create, modify and maintain all internal forms and templates.
  • Actively participate in required firm calls and meetings; provides weekly reporting and present relevant case data as requested.
  • Respond to client written and verbal correspondence in a timely and professional manner, ensuring their requests or disputes are resolved satisfactorily.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a transactional Paralegal role, preferably estate planning, administration, and medicaid work.
  • Certificate, Associates, and/or Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies preferred
  • Proficiency with legal software and systems such as Lackner, Lawmatrics, Mycase, or similar preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) AND Google Workspace, Internet research skills, document management systems, attorney time entry software.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong research and report-generating skills
  • Highly developed time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to operate office equipment and software
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Minimal travel is required as needed to Courts in the South Eastern Counties and clients' residence to wellness checks.
