What We Seek

We are seeking a Full-Time, highly motivated Associate Attorney licensed in Pennsylvania (licensed in NJ a plus) with an interest in Estate Planning and Probate. Applicants with strong writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for client service are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate has a passion for estate and trust planning and administration, representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the administration of trusts and estates, handling guardianship and special needs cases, representing seniors and representing small business owners. 


This is a great opportunity in a rapidly growing firm that offers plenty of room for the right person to develop a strong practice and position within the firm. The successful candidate will be required to bill a minimum of 1600 hours per year. Candidates are eligible for bonuses for additional hours billed above the minimum billing requirement as well as for converting existing leads to clients and for closing cases. Additional compensation in the form of a percentage of any new cases you bring into the firm is also available. 



What You’ll Do

  • Prepare comprehensive simple to complex Estate Plans, using techniques to protect and preserve assets, reduce taxes and accomplish client goals.
  • Handle Estate and Trust administration from start to finish.
  • Analyze trust and estate planning documents and advise clients with respect to trustees' powers and duties, dispositive provisions, beneficiary rights, and tax treatment of distributions.
  • Prepare and file petitions to protect clients, their property interests and to accomplish various goals for the client.
  • Draft Special Needs Trusts. 
  • Handle and manage Medicaid long term care applications and Guardianship cases.
  • Provide oversight of Probate and Trust Administration Coordinator, Medicaid Coordinator, Drafting Coordinator and Funding Coordinator to ensure tasks are completed as required to accomplish legal service provided.
  • An ability to assist business clients with establishing and remaining compliant in running their business is a plus.
  • Travel to and attend all Court hearings required by the firm (primarily Orphans’ Court in the surrounding Philadelphia Counties) as well as to client homes, hospitals and other client locations as required.
  • Collaborate with client’s financial and insurance professionals.
  • Handle consultations to convert leads to new clients.
  • Establish and maintain professional and community relationships that regularly refer prospects to the firm.
  • Provide quality customer service to clients, potential clients, and their parties.
  • Attend CLE and other training events as needed to stay on top of changes in the legal community.
  • Assist the managing attorney with seminar and webinar presentations and other speaking engagements as requested. 
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an accredited College/University required.
  • Active admission to practice law in Pennsylvania; active or eligible to be licensed in New Jersey a plus. 
  • 3+ years experience practicing law in a law firm.
  • 1+ years Estate Planning and Elder law experience  preferred; probate experience a plus!
  • Court Experience (Guardianship and Estate litigation is a plus)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and persuasive communication skills required. 
  • Highly developed time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask with clarity and efficiency. 
  • Skilled at getting information by observing, receiving and/or researching to obtain information from relevant sources.
  • Skilled in listening and identifying issues and able to show prospective clients the value our firm can provide so they willingly engage us
  • Demonstrate aptitude for working in sensitive environments requiring a high degree of confidentiality.

Salary

$90,000 - $105,000 per year
