Hospitality operations at a 20-court indoor pickleball center in Interbay

Description

About us

Seattle’s first purpose-built indoor pickleball center is opening in Interbay with 20 courts, a cafe, and a pro shop. We’re building a champion team to welcome our players, build a meaningful community, and maintain smooth operations. We are hiring Community Associates (Front Desk Associates) across all shifts covering our opening hours of 7am-11pm, 7 days/week.

The Palms is a women-owned local business. We’re building a place that’s welcoming whether you’re trying pickleball for the first time or you’ve been playing for a decade. This is a community of play open to everyone.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome players and act as a knowledgeable host
  • Manage check-ins, update member accounts, and support sales activities through our booking platform
  • Manage communications via email, phone, or in-person in a professional manner
  • Run pro shop transactions, manage inventory, and keep the retail floor looking sharp
  • Support programming, including event setup/breakdown and managing signage
  • Handle light cleaning, court setup, opening or closing checklists
  • Be the problem solver when something doesn’t go to plan, whether that’s a misbooking, a frustrated guest, or a spill

What You’ll Bring

  • You are a warm and service-oriented team player who likes people and sports and makes friends easily
  • You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You are a resourceful problem solver who knows when to roll up your sleeves and when to ask for help
  • You are comfortable picking up new software (we’ll train you on everything; you don’t need to be technical, but you shouldn’t dread a new app)
  • You are reliable. You show up when you say you will.
  • Must be able to perform all essential physical aspects of the position, which may include lifting up to 50lbs at a time
  • Bonus: you’re already a pickleball enthusiast

Shifts

We’ll have a morning shift beginning at 6:45am, an afternoon shift, and an evening shift until 11:15pm. Additional coverage as needed will be in 4 hour shifts. Most of our part-time teammates work 12–25 hours per week regularly, and then we have some flex folks we can call if we need extra coverage. We especially value consistent weekly availability– knowing you can reliably cover Tuesday and Thursday evenings means we can build the schedule around you.

Pay and Benefits

  • Complimentary Core membership and additional perks and incentives with our products and services, including court time
  • $24 per hour, paid biweekly.
  • Increases to $25/hr after completing 12 months of service, a minimum of 500 hours worked, and a meets-expectations performance review. Increases to $26 after 24 months of service, a minimum of 1000 hours worked, and a meets-expectations performance review.
  • Commission incentives based on team performance
