Description

Performance Carts is looking for a skilled MIG welder who takes pride in producing accurate, consistent work.

We design and manufacture premium carts and equipment for the live performance, marching band, and pro-audio industries. Our customers include Walt Disney World, Michigan State University, Indiana University, the University of North Alabama, Windish Entertainment, and organizations across the country.

Most of our carts follow repeatable designs, but custom projects and occasional fit-up challenges are also part of the work. This is a welding-focused position involving fit-up, welding, grinding, finishing, and inspection.

What You’ll Do

  • Fit, square, tack, and MIG weld steel tubing into cart frames and related components
  • Follow fabrication drawings, cut lists, jigs, fixtures, and shop instructions
  • Measure accurately and verify dimensions before and during welding
  • Grind and finish welds as needed
  • Inspect your work for weld quality, alignment, squareness, and consistency
  • Identify and resolve occasional fit-up or fabrication issues
  • Learn to operate our laser welder as production needs require

What We’re Looking For

  • Competent MIG welding ability on steel
  • Ability to produce clean, consistent welds at a productive pace
  • Experience fitting, aligning, and squaring welded frames or similar components
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure, fabrication drawings, and cut lists
  • Attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • Dependability and the ability to work effectively without constant supervision
  • Willingness to receive feedback, learn new processes, and continue improving

Production welding or metal fabrication experience is preferred, especially experience working with square steel tubing. We care more about demonstrated ability than a specific number of years, but applicants should already be able to perform competent MIG welding on steel.

Previous laser-welding experience is not required. Training will be provided as needed.
