Under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager, the Shelter Cook prepares, delivers and serves large quantities of food to the Armory Shelter. Responsible for the timely preparation and delivery of lunch and dinner in accordance with standard food safety practices. Due to this position being on-call, there are no consistent hours or shifts per week. Hours vary and include morning, afternoon, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting, or manipulating. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
