Service Technician – Amusement Route Operator (Texas)

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX (Route-Based)

Position Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Service Manager / Technical Manager

Position Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting amusement, redemption, and skill‑game equipment across a designated Texas route. This role ensures machines are fully operational, clean, stocked, safe, and optimized for revenue. The technician works independently, travels daily between locations, and serves as the company’s on‑site representative to business partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Route Service & Location Readiness

  • Travel to assigned route locations on a scheduled basis to inspect, test, clean, and maintain amusement/skill‑game equipment.
  • Ensure machines, kiosks, card readers, redemption terminals, and related equipment are guest‑ready and functioning.
  • Perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance.
  • Restock prizes, tickets, cards, and other consumables as needed.

2. Technical Repair & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hardware, and software issues on amusement and redemption equipment.
  • Replace parts, adjust settings, and verify proper operation before leaving the location.
  • Handle game conversions, installs, moves, and refurbishments.

3. Collections & Revenue Optimization

  • Perform accurate route collections and adhere to proper cash‑handling procedures.
  • Record meters, payouts, and machine performance data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve location performance through machine rotation, placement, or merchandising.

4. Partner & Customer Relations

  • Build positive working relationships with store managers and staff.
  • Communicate professionally about repairs, follow‑ups, and equipment issues.
  • Serve as the company’s on‑site ambassador, ensuring partner satisfaction and operational excellence.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete service logs, route checklists, repair notes, inventory updates, and work orders accurately and on time.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE, key security, and vehicle safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and tool inventory.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or electronic repair experience (arcade/amusement preferred).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces or behind equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently.
  • Solid organization skills for managing tools, parts, paperwork, and route schedules.

Preferred

  • Experience in amusement, vending, arcade, or skill‑game operations.
  • Experience managing a route or field‑service territory.
  • Customer‑service background with strong communication skills.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Daily travel across a multi‑city Texas route (DFW, surrounding suburbs).
  • Company vehicle provided for route work.
  • Flexibility in scheduling - Evening or weekend service depending on business needs.
  • Independent work with remote supervision.
