Overview
- Length: 6-9 months
- Hours: 15–20 per week
- Pay: Part-time hourly or stipend
- Schedule: Sundays + Mondays required, remaining hours flexible and up to staff mentor
- Commitment: Active service in assigned ministry and completion of readings, reflections, and meetings
- Compensation: Paid part-time role with development resources and mentorship
Weekly Structure
Monday (Required, 9:00–2:00)
- 9:00–9:45 Practicum 1:1 with ministry mentor (feedback, goals)
- 10:00–11:00 Monthly rotation
- Week 1: The Timothy Initiative Training Series book discussion
- Week 3: Jesus the High Road Leader leadership discussion
- 11:00–12:30 All-staff meeting (vision, metrics, planning, prayer)
- 12:30–2:00 Open work block (staff collaboration, planning, prep)
Sunday: Serve in assigned ministry environment, lead volunteers, and debrief with mentor.
Flexible Midweek (5–10 hrs): Reading, reflections, project work, volunteer coaching, and cross-department shadowing.

A. The Timothy Initiative Training Series
Focus: Biblical, theological, and missional development
Residents read one book monthly and discuss key learnings and ministry application.

B. Jesus the High Road Leader
Focus: Leadership formation through the example of Jesus
Read throughout the residency. Discussions cover humility, integrity, serving others, courage, and consistency.
Residents will:
- Reflect on how Jesus modeled high-road leadership.
- Identify growth areas and next steps.
- Apply lessons to Peak City’s leadership culture.
Development Tracks
Spiritual Formation: Scripture, prayer, Sabbath, community, confession—develops a rule of life, accountability rhythm, and personal retreat plan.
Theology: Biblical theology, salvation, church, mission—builds theological clarity and sound doctrine.
Leadership Foundations: Values, ownership, time management, feedback, conflict, team development—forms confident, coachable leaders.
Ministry Practicum: Placement in Kids, Students, Worship, Guest Experience, Adult Ministres, Facilities, or Communications—hands-on experience with measurable growth goals.
Assessment & Deliverables
Residents receive regular feedback on character, competency, and chemistry.
Also expected to execute regular ministry tasks like:
- Teaching outlines or devotionals
- Volunteer huddles
- Event planning and execution
- Guest follow up
- Volunteer onboarding
Expectations & Policies
- Availability: Sundays + Monday 9–2 required
- Reliability: On time, prepared, proactive communication

Roles
- Resident: Learner-practitioner responsible for weekly goals and growth
- Ministry Mentor: Direct supervisor and feedback provider
- Residency Director: Oversees curriculum, assessments, and program health

By completion, residents will:
