JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Assistant General Manager is the anchor of the team, working as a leader who sets the standard for customer service, supporting daily operations, assisting with training, spearheading equipment maintenance and studio readiness, managing inventory and supplies, and helping drive revenue through exceptional guest experiences. The AGM reports directly to the General Manager to keep the studio performing at a consistently high level.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Experience

  • Deliver exceptional guest services across every touchpoint
  • Serve as an escalation point for client concerns, resolving issues professionally and promptly
  • Ensure studio environment is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and on-brand always


Studio Management

  • Always maintain a “photo-ready” studio; ensure the studio scent is always pleasant; conduct cleaning walk throughs at least three times a day setting expectations for improvement as well as giving recognition for good performance.
  • Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house readiness throughout each shift  by managing/executing daily and weekly cleanliness and facility checklists
  • Maintain studio maintenance tracker and ensure tasks are completed regularly to uphold high studio standard
  • Help coordinate repairs and vendor service calls
  • Oversee retail and supply inventory
  • Support the General Manager with daily reporting, scheduling, and administrative communication


Conversions & Team Coaching

  • Guest conversion through individual membership, package, and promotion sales
  • Help coach team on consultative selling, conversion techniques, and tactics that support goals; hold team accountable to goals
  • Assist with cancellation and freeze requests, applying retention-first approaches before processing
  • Hold team accountable for daily lead outreach and timely follow-up


Team Support

  • Support onboarding and ongoing training of new and current Studio Associates
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to studio policies and service standards
  • Contribute to a positive, accountable, and wellness-forward team culture
  • Assist with managing team coverage requests and jump in when support is needed


Miscellaneous

  • Demonstrate, embrace, and exhibit decisions and behavior that embody Pause and the Pause vision, mission, and core values
  • Assist with special projects, community outreach, and events as needed
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • College graduate
  • Proven experience in a leadership role in the health, wellness, fitness, or hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of studio operations, including therapeutic modalities and client management
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Genuine passion for health and wellness

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Frequent repetitive movements
  • Continuous exposure to moderate noise
  • Frequent walking and standing on hard surfaces
  • Frequent movement, lifting or carrying of weight up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent exposure to dust, chemicals, and cleaning solutions
  • Frequent exposure to the varying temperatures associated with a spa-like environment


POSITION TYPE

  • This is a full-time, studio-based hourly position: 35-40 hours per week, including 4-5 regular front desk shifts
  • Weekend availability required
  • Flexibility to support studio needs as they arise
