Position Summary

Pathways Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and Christ-centered Fifth Grade Teacher who is passionate about helping students grow academically, spiritually, and socially. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, character development, and a love for learning while partnering with families to support student success.

Essential Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Pathways Christian Academy curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach core subjects including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Bible.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technology to enhance student learning.
• Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback.

Student Development

• Foster a positive, safe, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
• Encourage the spiritual, emotional, and social growth of students.
• Model Christian values and biblical principles in interactions with students and families.
• Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic achievement.
• Support students in developing responsibility, integrity, and strong character.

Communication and Collaboration

• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with administrators, support staff, and fellow teachers to ensure student success.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Idaho teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Pathways Christian Academy.
• A personal commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to integrate biblical principles into daily instruction.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to participate in physical activities with students, including field trips, outdoor activities, and extended periods of standing or walking.
• Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and classroom supplies up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to use computers and educational technology effectively.
• Ability to drive a 15-passenger van for school-related transportation needs.

Employment Status

• Full-Time, Exempt (salaried; not eligible for overtime)
• Reports to: Principal
• Contracted School Year Position
• Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
