Behavior Technician

Description

As a Behavior Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. Your primary focus will be to support clients in achieving their behavioral and educational goals, whether in our local Murrieta office or in the comfort of their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of Treatment Plans:
  • Follow and execute individualized ABA treatment plans as designed by BCBAs.
  • Use evidence-based strategies to promote skill development and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Data Collection:
  • Collect and record data on client behavior and progress accurately during each session.
  • Maintain detailed notes regarding client interactions, successes, and challenges.
  • Behavior Management:
  • Implement behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors and discourage negative ones.
  • Use reinforcement strategies effectively to motivate clients.
  • Skill Development:
  • Teach clients essential skills such as communication, social interactions, and daily living activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods based on individual needs and learning styles.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with BCBAs, families, and other team members to ensure a cohesive approach to intervention.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to discussions about client progress.
  • Client and Family Support:
  • Provide ongoing support and encouragement to clients to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Educate families on strategies to reinforce skills at home and promote the generalization of learned behaviors.
  • Professional Development:
  • Engage in continuous training and professional development to stay current with ABA practices and techniques.
  • Seek feedback from supervisors to improve skills and effectiveness.
  • Crisis Management:
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis situations, ensuring client safety and well-being.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in ABA or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • RBT certification (Registered Behavior Technician) or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor with a commitment to helping others.


Salary

$18 - $22 per hour
