As a Software Engineer III with Parsec Education, your deep technical expertise and leadership will drive the development of high-impact, scalable systems. You will play a central role in shaping architecture, mentoring engineers, and leading large-scale initiatives. This role requires a balance of hands-on coding, strategic thinking, and technical oversight to ensure platform reliability, performance, and growth.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record of technical leadership, driving projects from concept to completion, and contributing meaningfully to long-term engineering strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale engineering projects from inception to completion, driving high-quality execution
• Design and implement scalable, distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
• Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent), and data transformation pipelines
• Contribute to platform-wide architectural decisions and shape long-term engineering strategy
• Deliver major system enhancements—e.g., platform-wide performance upgrades—within defined timelines (2–3 months)
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; establish best practices in design, testing, and code quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define priorities and technical direction for key initiatives
• Unblock and support internal partners while improving systems that reduce tech debt and enhance delivery

Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and systems design
• Proven experience delivering and scaling large infrastructure or distributed systems projects
• Expertise in Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g., Docker, cri-o)
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially GCP; familiarity with Google Cloud Console and Cloud Functions is a plus
• Proficiency with our core stack: Go, Python, TypeScript, NodeJS, Vue 3, Hapi, SQL (BigQuery preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support technical growth within engineering teams
• Experience leading incident response and ensuring service reliability in high-stakes environments
