Description

Prepares for radiological procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors using a c-arm.

• Operates fluoroscopy equipment during the procedure according to the physicians’ preferences.
• Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
• Performs semi-annual inspection of lead aprons and shields.
• Maintains patient radiation exposure log.
• Maintains all employee radiation dose monitor badges and reviews employee dosimetry reports .
• Ensures operation of fluoroscopy equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions.
