We are seeking an experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join our busy pain management practice. In this full-time, on-site position, you will accurately transcribe physician and nurse practitioner dictations and clinical audio into well-formatted medical reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in medical terminology, and committed to producing high-quality documentation while meeting established turnaround times.

PMCOA is a national company with state-of-the-art interventional pain management facilities in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Illinois with 8 pain centers and 3 ambulatory surgery centers. PMCOA employs over 200 trained personnel, including interventional pain physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and expert personnel in multiple ancillary services and administration.

Description

Key Responsibilities:


  • Transcribe physician and nurse practitioner dictations into accurate, complete, and properly formatted medical reports.
  • Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and medical accuracy.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with practice standards, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround time expectations.
  • Communicate with providers as needed to clarify dictation or documentation.
  • Maintain proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and transcription software.
  • Assist with other clerical or documentation-related duties as assigned.

Schedule:


  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.


Previous experience as a medical transcriptionist required.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.

Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.

Ability to type accurately with strong keyboarding skills.

Experience with EHR systems and transcription software preferred.

Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
