ABOUT P2

P2 Last Mile Gypsum LLC is part of P2 Holdings, a Costco exclusive final mile delivery and installation company operating depots in Colorado, Utah, California and Washington. We deliver and install appliances and large goods in Costco members homes. Three of our four depots rank in the top twenty of roughly one hundred fifty locations in the Costco network, and our sites have held the number one and number two carrier rankings network wide.

We are a small company that competes on execution. Our people are trained, certified, paid for growth and promoted from within.

THE ROLE

This is a player coach seat. You lead the depot and you work it. On a normal week you are receiving the Costco inventory, staging routes, coaching crews on the dock, riding along on deliveries, handling member issues and closing the day out with an accurate report. You are in the truck and on the floor with your team, not watching from an office.

This is an accountability role, with a well defined and refined task list. Daily procedures live in our SOP library. What follows is what you own and how it is measured.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • Safety. Zero preventable injuries and vehicle incidents. Daily vehicle inspection reports completed and audited. Incidents reported within twenty four hours with complete documentation. The building passes a safety or DOT audit on any day, without preparation time.
  • Trailer receiving. Every Costco trailer received to standard. Seal verified against the shipping control record, every bill of lading item circled and accounted for, unload expectations met or beaten, returns processed on schedule.
  • Staging and routing. Routes staged in stop order, labeled, heavy items positioned correctly, zero load out errors caused by staging. Routes built, balanced and frozen in Descartes on time with accurate manifests.
  • Delivery performance. On time arrival inside the member window, complete proof of delivery, hookups and haul aways done to Costco standard, exceptions handled and documented the same day.
  • Damage free operations. Product protected from the trailer to the living room. Damage frequency tracked, trending down, and every event captured in the incident tracker within forty eight hours.
  • Claims first response. Claim intake complete within twenty four hours with photos, documentation and item detail. First member contact uses approved language. Injury claims and attorney contact escalate immediately.
  • Crew readiness. Every driver and mover trained, certified on the procedures they perform and scheduled in paired truck teams sized to the day. Coverage holds Tuesday through Saturday without overtime blowouts.
  • Cost control. Labor cost per stop, overtime ratio and fleet cost inside the depot target band. Density and route balance are the levers and you are expected to work them.
  • Costco relationship. Market delivery office communications answered inside forty eight hours and professional in tone. The scorecard is read daily and acted on.
  • Building condition. Docks clear, product positioned to the warehouse map, staging areas labeled and the building ready for an unannounced walk at all times.
  • Communication. End of day report every operating day and a written weekly depot report. Bad news travels fast. Leadership never learns of a problem more than twenty four hours after you do.

HOW YOU WILL BE MEASURED

Targets are set and reviewed quarterly with the Director of Operations. Core indicators are on time delivery rate, damage frequency per one thousand stops, Costco scorecard tier, labor cost per stop against bill rate, overtime ratio, trailer unload compliance, claims response discipline, crew certification currency and reporting cadence.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

  • Two or more years leading people in delivery, warehouse, installation, construction, trades or a comparable hands on operating environment.
  • Willingness and physical ability to run routes and work the dock alongside your crew. This is not a supervisory only seat.
  • Valid driver license and ability to meet company driver qualification and insurance standards, including a motor vehicle record review.
  • Comfort with technology. Routing software, scanners, spreadsheets, email and reporting tools are daily instruments in this job.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You will write daily and weekly reports read by ownership.
  • Ability to pass a background check and to meet Costco carrier access requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in appliance or big and bulky home delivery and installation.
  • Familiarity with Descartes routing, DOT compliance, or Department of Transportation regulated fleet operations.
  • Prior accountability for a profit and loss statement, labor plan or operating budget.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Warehouse and field environment with regular exposure to Colorado seasonal weather conditions and mountain driving.
  • Regularly lifts and moves appliances and large items with equipment and team assist. Sustained periods standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working on docks and in trucks.
  • Personally performs deliveries and installations as part of training, certification, coverage and quality auditing.
  • Early start times on delivery center days.
