As a Solutions Consultant, Data Engineering at Oxalis, you will be responsible for supporting and optimizing enterprise data pipelines, ensuring seamless data integration, storage, and governance. You’ll work closely with enterprise architects, data owners, and business teams to develop and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing data solutions. You will support and evolve the enterprise data platform to ensure secure, scalable, and governed data access across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Platform Management & Optimization

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for integrating data from multiple sources.
  • Optimize data storage, queries, and processing pipelines to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Support and maintain real-time and batch data processing solutions to meet diverse business needs.
  • Transform raw data into structured formats optimized for analytics and reporting.


Data Governance & Security

  • Implement and enforce data security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
  • Work with technology teams to ensure secure data sharing and governance policies are met.
  • Review and refine security protocols regularly to ensure compliance with evolving standards and regulations.
  • Maintain data encryption, manage access control policies, and implement audit logging to ensure compliance with security standards.


Collaboration & Integration

  • Partner with Enterprise Architects, data owners, and business leaders to align platform capabilities with business objectives.
  • Enable secure and governed data sharing across departments by aligning platform capabilities with enterprise data strategy.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient data flow across enterprise systems, creating robust integration workflows.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, pipelines, and models for transparency, maintainability, and to ensure traceability for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Work closely with application owners, SMEs, and architects to ensure alignment of platform design with enterprise data strategy.


Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Set up automated monitoring for data pipeline performance and reliability.
  • Develop data validation rules to maintain high data quality and integrity.
  • Provide performance and resource utilization reports to optimize scalability and efficiency.
  • Perform ongoing platform health checks and implement enhancements to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline and infrastructure issues and implement fixes to maintain operational continuity.


Strategic Data Consulting

  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align data platform capabilities with enterprise goals, including ITSM, Agile, and DevSecOps initiatives.
  • Analyze data workflows and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and business value.
  • Translate complex data engineering concepts into actionable insights for executive and non-technical audiences.


Training & Enablement

  • Support user onboarding, training, and adoption of data tools and platforms.


Lifecycle Ownership

  • Lead the full lifecycle of data solutions—from discovery and design through implementation, optimization, and support.


Business Development Support

  • Identify opportunities to expand Oxalis’ data services through client engagement and collaboration with sales teams.


Qualifications:

Required

  • 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, data platform management, and working with large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in modern data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Strong expertise in dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT development, and data transformation.
  • Experience with version control tools like Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot data integration issues.


Preferred

  • Knowledge of workflow automation tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Prefect).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python, Scala, or Java).
  • Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming).
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices in data compliance.
  • Passion for continuous learning and improvement, with a keen eye for performance optimization.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Jira Align) in data or DevOps contexts.
  • Certifications in Agile, ITIL, SAFe, or PMP.
  • Experience in customer-facing consulting or solution architecture roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes through data initiatives.


Salary

$89,000 - $115,000 per year
