What You'll Do

  • Submit, monitor, and follow up on prior authorization requests for laboratory testing, imaging, medications, and specialist referrals to ensure timely approvals.
  • Coordinate laboratory orders for patients nationwide, confirming appropriate testing, verifying insurance coverage when applicable, and ensuring orders are routed to the correct facilities.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, including new patient consultations, follow-up visits with our physician and nurse practitioner, and health coaching sessions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within our Canvas electronic health record (EHR), update documentation, manage secure patient messaging, and coordinate communication with the clinical team.
  • Deliver a white glove patient experience by communicating with professionalism, warmth, empathy, and responsiveness. For many patients, you will be their primary point of contact, and every interaction matters.
  • Monitor patient workflows proactively, identifying delays or gaps in care such as missing lab results, pending authorizations, or scheduling issues before they become problems.
  • Support day-to-day administrative operations to ensure an efficient and exceptional patient experience.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare practice, or medical administrative role.
  • Prior authorization experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a telemedicine or virtual healthcare practice.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience with Canvas is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate, white glove customer service to patients, insurance representatives, and clinical staff.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage responsibilities independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Comfortable multitasking while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Spruce secure messaging.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, benefits coordination, and prior authorization workflows.
  • Experience in cardiology, metabolic health, functional medicine, or preventive medicine.
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment where flexibility and teamwork are valued.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday through Friday
  • Availability to work evenings as needed, with shifts extending up to 7:00 PM
  • Fully remote position
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, quiet workspace are required.


Salary

$19.5 - $22.5 per hour
