Outdoor Living Furniture Product Manager (Business Development and Channel Manager)

One of our key businesses, located in San Diego, California and Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas (Metroplex), is seeking a talented high-energy, innovative, and execution-driven Furniture Product Manager to lead our outdoor furniture category. This is a mission-critical role that will directly impact the success of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in outdoor furniture, strong leadership instincts, and the ability to translate design trends and market opportunities into real, revenue-generating product lines. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a high sense of urgency, and be capable of taking ideas from concept through commercialization with speed and precision.

Position Overview: The Furniture Product Manager will lead our outdoor furniture category in business development as the channel manager. This is a mission-critical role that will directly impact the success of our organization. The Furniture Product Manager will possess deep expertise in outdoor furniture, strong leadership instincts, and the ability to translate design trends and market opportunities into real, revenue-generating product lines. The Furniture Product Manager will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a high sense of urgency, and be capable of taking ideas from concept through commercialization with speed and precision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product strategy, lifecycle, and execution for all outdoor furniture product lines.
  • Drive product development across domestic and international markets, managing relationships with suppliers, designers, and manufacturers.
  • Distinguish and design for the unique requirements of consumer vs. commercial-grade outdoor furniture—addressing durability, compliance, materials, and use-case design.
  • Identify new trends and product opportunities and turn those insights into actionable development plans.
  • Manage product launches from concept to commercialization, working cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, eCommerce, sales, and logistics.
  • Maintain an assortment strategy that aligns design, function, price point, and customer segment expectations.
  • Uphold the highest quality and performance standards for outdoor use.
  • Represent the company at key industry trade shows and events; source new partnerships and gain insights.
  • Participate actively in industry groups or associations (e.g., ICFA, AHFA) to stay on the forefront of trends and best practices.
  • Provide thought leadership and act as a key voice within the business on outdoor furniture direction and innovation.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in outdoor furniture product management or closely related roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of outdoor furniture design, fabric, materials, finishes, and construction.
  • Experience managing both domestic brands and international product development or sourcing.
  • Proven ability to differentiate and deliver on commercial vs. residential product standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute at a high level—taking ideas to market swiftly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High degrees of urgency, energy, innovation, and ideation.
  • Willingness and availability to travel up to 50%.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with private label programs and high-volume commercial-grade product lines.
  • Active member in outdoor living or furniture industry associations.
  • Background in sustainable product development or environmentally friendly materials sourcing.


Physical Activities:

  • Daily activity includes but is not limited to:
  • Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
  • Reading, communication, math.
  • Be able to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate.
  • Travel up to 50%, domestic and international.

  • Salaried: Competitive salary pay (exempt), commensurate with experience.
