Position Overview:

The Inventory & Procurement Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting purchasing activities, analyzing product pricing and margins, and ensuring the efficient flow of products throughout the supply chain. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and vendors to optimize inventory performance and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support business demand and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Analyze inventory trends, usage patterns, and replenishment needs.
  • Create and manage purchase orders for inventory replenishment and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding product availability, pricing, lead times, and order status.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records within company systems.
  • Perform pricing and margin analysis to support profitability goals.
  • Review product costs, pricing structures, and gross margin performance.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain inventory, purchasing, and pricing reports using Excel.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate variances.
  • Support forecasting and planning activities through data analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and finance teams to ensure inventory accuracy and product availability.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze pricing, costs, margins, and inventory data.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with inventory forecasting and demand planning.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and vendor management processes.
  • Experience supporting pricing strategy and margin optimization initiatives.

Physical Activities:

Daily activity includes but is not limited to:

  • Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
  • Reading, communication, simple math.
  • Standing on a fatigue mat in a specific area throughout a 10 hour+ shift.
  • Occasionally lift and move items up to 25 pounds.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate.
