Director of Global Sourcing 

 

Outova, headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth (Texas), Texas market, we are seeking a talented Director of Global Sourcing.  

 

Position Overview: 

 

The Director of Global Sourcing will lead our global procurement across a diverse portfolio of outdoor living products—including luxury furniture, kitchens, fire features, heating, and lighting. This DFW-based position requires extensive international travel and deep expertise in low-cost country sourcing, factory-direct negotiations, and product development. Ideal for a proven leader ready to scale a high-growth, design-driven organization through supply chain excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead sourcing and procurement for outdoor living products, including furniture, kitchens, fire features, heating, and lighting. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish direct relationships with manufacturers in low-cost countries (e.g., China, Vietnam, India, Mexico, Southeast Asia). 
  • Maintain and expand a robust supplier network with demonstrated experience and relationships. 
  • Negotiate cost-effective agreements with factories and oversee purchasing activities to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery. 
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and merchandising teams to support the introduction of new products. 
  • Oversee international logistics and freight processes, ensuring compliance, container optimization, and cost-efficiency. 
  • Travel overseas regularly, including for extended periods, to audit factories, manage production timelines, and strengthen partnerships. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years of global sourcing and procurement experience, preferably in outdoor living or adjacent consumer product categories. 
  • Strong knowledge of low-cost country sourcing strategies and factory-direct relationships. 
  • Demonstrated network of established manufacturing partners and international suppliers. 
  • Expertise in purchasing, product development, international freight, and supply chain cost management. 
  • Proven ability to travel internationally for extended periods as needed. 
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. 
  • Must be based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and able to work on-site. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments. 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and international trade compliance. 
  • Experience sourcing in high-volume or seasonal businesses. 
  • Multilingual capabilities (Mandarin, Spanish, etc.) a plus.

  • Skilled in complex negotiations that balance cost, quality, and partnership development. 
  • Deep understanding of cross-cultural communication, business practices, and global supply dynamics.

  • Effective at leading cross-functional teams and managing supplier relationships across multiple regions. 
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and timelines with precision and accountability. 
  • Makes informed decisions under pressure in fast-paced, high-growth environments. 
  • Clear, professional communication with internal teams and external suppliers. 

 

Physical Activities: 

Daily activity includes but is not limited to: 

  • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods. 
  • Frequent use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment. 
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally, including long flights and on-site factory visits. 
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry materials or product samples up to 45 lbs. 
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during trade shows, supplier visits, or site inspections. 
  • May be exposed to manufacturing environments with moderate noise, dust, or temperature variations during travel.
