Position Overview:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a newly created, high-impact role responsible for driving business growth across Outova, Patio Productions, Starfire Direct, and Empire Distributing. This position is designed for a highly motivated, results-oriented sales professional who thrives on outbound prospecting, building relationships, and creating new business opportunities through consistent, high-volume outreach.

 

As the first point of contact for prospective customers, the BDR plays a critical role in generating qualified leads, securing appointments, and building a strong sales pipeline. The ideal candidate is confident engaging decision-makers, skilled at overcoming objections, and energized by opening doors to new opportunities. Success in this role requires persistence, professionalism, and the ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with prospects.

 

This is a phone-first, performance-driven position where initiative, resilience, and strong communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will embrace a proactive sales approach, maintain a high level of activity, and consistently work toward ambitious goals and measurable results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a high volume of outbound cold calls daily to identify, qualify, and engage prospective customers.
  • Build and maintain targeted prospect lists through research, data sourcing, and lead generation activities.
  • Deliver professional, consultative sales conversations that effectively communicate our value proposition and generate interest.
  • Schedule qualified appointments for the sales team and ensure smooth handoff of opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospecting activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions within the CRM.
  • Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and appointment-setting goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to improve lead quality, messaging, and overall conversion rates.


Qualifications:

  • Proven success in high-volume outbound cold calling and appointment setting (required).
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate previous performance metrics, including call volume, appointments set, and quota attainment.
  • Experience researching and building prospect lists using various lead generation tools and resources.
  • Strong verbal communication, objection handling, and consultative selling skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management, pipeline management and follow-through.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven sales environment.
  • Experience within the outdoor living, home improvement, furniture, or related industries is a plus but not required.
  • Required to work from our Dallas/Fort Worth office and support customers, prospects, and business operations across all U.S. time zones. The role requires flexibility to engage with teams and stakeholders nationwide.

Physical Activities:

Daily activity includes but is not limited to:

  • Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
  • Reading, communication, math.
  • Standing on a fatigue mat in a specific area throughout a 10 hour+ shift.
  • Be able to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate
