The Sous Chef/Kitchen Supervisor position is Full-Time and will report directly to the Executive Chef.

Description

BirdCraft Co. (Located inside Outer Range Brewery) Is Hiring a Kitchen Supervisor. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for exhibiting culinary talents while leading the team and managing all food-related functions.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Trains new employees
  • Assists with food ordering.
  • Assists with Catering and Events.
  • Works 40+ hours a week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty in the absence of Chef, General Manager or Register Manager.
  • Responsible for delegating cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate needs of kitchen to Chef / Register Manager / General Manager.
  • Responsible for making sure weekly cleaning projects are being completed.
  • Responsible for checking out staff at the end of the night/end of the shift.
  • Does final walk through of kitchen ensuring all equipment is off and cleaned.
  • Ensures food quality from the line, watching line cooks to make sure they are preparing food in line with BirdCraft standards.
  • Monitors cleaning chemicals for dish-machine and mop sink.
  • Helps ensure we have proper documents printed off.
  • Holds staff accountable for cleanliness and proper procedures.
  • Monitors spaces like trash room, and Back door area to ensure they are presentable and in working condition.
  • Ensures orders are put away properly and completely.
  • Assists with overall organization of storage spaces like walk in cooler, dish storage and dry storage. 

Skills Required:

  • ServSafe Certified or willingness to acquire.
  • Lead Cook and Line Cook experience; worked in multiple/various kitchen stations
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment; executes with accuracy under tight timelines
  • Able to demonstrate and communicate verbally: complete working knowledge of all culinary stations, cutlery commands, and cooking techniques
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to complete multiple tasks and work in an environment with time constraints
  • Skills:Lead Cook and Line Cook experience; worked in multiple/various kitchen stations
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment; executes with accuracy under tight timelines
  • Able to demonstrate and communicate verbally: complete working knowledge of all culinary stations, cutlery commands, and cooking techniques

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 30.00 -36.00/Hr after tip out.
