The person who fills this REMOTE role must be based in the United States, with a slight preference for candidates located in California, Colorado, Arizona or Michigan. Candidates should hold an active CPA license and have leadership experience in a U.S. based fundraising context, including significant experience with budgeting/tracking/receipting/CRM alignment for donations given across multiple digital and snail mail channels.


The Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee the financial activities of the corporation in order to generously fund critical programs to support persecuted Christians. S/he will cast a clear organizational vision for wise stewardship and upholding the highest ethical standards when representing our financial position. The CFO will direct accounting, budget and audit functions and lead in the preparation of financial reports and forecasts.


·      Oversees financial staff and/or agencies (current: Rehmann Finance, Rehmann Investment Group, Davis-Farr Auditing Firm and Moler Capitol Management)

·      Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, tax filings, and financial reports for ODI, OFAC and government agencies

·      Oversees the internal coordination of documentation, serving as liaison between accounting staff/agencies, cross-departmental team members and auditors

·      Provides oversight and approvals related to payment invoicing systems (currently, Bill.Com) and reimbursement system (currently, Expensify)

·      Compares fundraising projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; recommending any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets

·      Oversees the creation and review of budgets, projects and forecasting

·      Reviews budget planning and record-keeping processes and drives improvements—including policies and SOPS--to current methods

·      Collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer and Fundraising/Partnership staff to understand and track granting through the GO system

·      Identifies opportunities for investment of funds

·      Acts preventatively to continually strengthen controls and reduce liability, fraud and or other financial disruptors

·      Represents ODUS in Global finance matters, including meetings and forums

·     Other duties as needed

·     Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

·     Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.


$114,000 - $150,000 per year
