Summer Art Teacher Assistant (Part-Time)

One River School of Art + Design

$16.30–$17.50 per hour

One River School of Art + Design is seeking creative and enthusiastic art students to join our team as Summer Art Teacher Assistants. This role is ideal for college students pursuing a BFA or MFA who want hands-on experience working in a professional art studio and supporting art classes for middle and high school students.

Teacher Assistants work closely with our instructors to help create engaging, high-energy studio classes where students explore a wide range of contemporary and traditional art forms.

This is a great opportunity to gain teaching experience, build your portfolio, and work alongside practicing artists and art educators.

What You’ll Do

Support instructors during hands-on art classes for students in Grades K–12.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting teachers during classes and demonstrations

• Helping students with projects and creative problem solving

• Preparing and organizing art materials and studio supplies

• Supporting classroom management and maintaining a positive studio environment

• Helping set up and clean up materials before and after classes

• Encouraging students as they experiment with new artistic techniques

Classes may explore a wide variety of art forms, including:

• Street art and spray painting techniques

• Digital art and illustration

• 3D modeling and creative design

• Resin art and mixed media

• Cosplay costume and character design

• Painting and drawing

• Watercolor and portraiture

• Manga and cartooning

• Fabric arts and textile design

• A current college student pursuing a BFA, MFA, or related art degree

Education

• Currently enrolled in a BFA, MFA, or related Fine Arts program
